News Richard Pryor Fringe Homage, Unspeakable, Extends Run in New York Unspeakable and its FringeNYC 2005 Overall Excellence Award-winning star James Murray Jackson, Jr., who portrays comedian Richard Pryor, will continue downtown beyond the festival.

Formerly known as Unspeakable: Richard Pryor Live & Uncensored, Peoria Stroker, LLC presents the show which will play on for five performances at the Soho Playhouse, Sept. 9-12. Rod Gailes directs and co-writes the work.

Billed as "an unflinching ride through the emotional landscape of comedic legend, Richard Pryor," Unspeakable follows "his rise to super stardom in the shadow of Bill Cosby and his blazingly self-destructive love affair with cocaine… and Jennifer," according to materials.

The cast features Benja K., Deborah Keller, Dominique Morisseau, Michelle Wilson, Steve Ramshur and Paris Campbell led by James Murray Jackson, Jr. — winner of an FringeNYC 2005 Overall Excellence Award as Outstanding Actor for his portrayal of Richard Pryor at The 2005 New York International Fringe Festival.

The work joins FringeNYC 2005 Overall Excellence Award winners The Lightning Field and Half Life, which also announced extensions beyond the festival at The Flea Theatre. The Lightning Field plays Sept. 12-28 (Monday-Wednesday at 9 PM; Sept. 12 and 26 at 7 PM) and Half Life will play opposite (Thursday-Saturday at 9 PM) from Sept 9-24. The Eisteddfod too extended it run in New York, playing Aug. 31-Sept. 10 at The Ontological Theatre. Other Fringe faves that will likely reappear, according to sources, include Bridezilla Strikes Back!, The Miss Education of Jenna Bush, Fleet Week: The Musical, Beautiful, Silence! The Musical and Go-Go Kitty, GO!
