News Ricky Ian Gordon's Orpheus and Euridice to Be Part of Lincoln Center Series A new song cycle by composer Ricky Ian Gordon will be part of Lincoln Center's 2005-06 "Great Performers" season.

The 40th anniversary season of "Great Performers," announced Jan. 18, will feature presentations in world music, classical music, opera, dance and film as well as symposia and multimedia events. Gordon's Orpheus and Euridice will premiere at the Rose Theatre in October 2005. Orpheus and Euridice features a score and text by Gordon and will be performed by soprano Elizabeth Futral and clarinetist Todd Palmer. Contemporary dance choreographer Doug Varone will direct the Oct. 5, 7 and 8 performances.

Ricky Ian Gordon’s My Life with Albertine was presented at Playwrights Horizons. His other works include Dream True, States of Independence, Stonewall/Night Variations, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Only Heaven, Autumn Valentine, Sweet Song and Morning Star. His songs have been recorded by such artists as Betty Buckley, Audra McDonald and Dawn Upshaw.
