News Ring of Fire Set for La Mirada's 2008-2009 Season Souvenir, Happy Days and Ring of Fire are among the productions that will populate the 2008-2009 season at the La Mirada Theatre.

La Mirada Theatre — which serves as the home base for McCoy Rigby Entertainment, created by Tom McCoy and Cathy Rigby — will feature two national tours, three resident productions and a visit from television's Vicki Lawrence.

The season kicks off with Stephen Temperley's comedy based on the life of warbling soprano Florence Foster Jenkins, Souvenir, running Sept. 12-28.

The national tour of the new musical Happy Days will follow. Featuring a book by Garry Marshall and music and lyrics by Paul Williams, Happy Days will officially launch its tour at La Mirada Oct. 31-Nov. 16.

Neil Simon's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning family stage work Lost in Yonkers is the first production of the new year, running Feb. 6-22, 2009. The eccentric citizens of Tuna, TX, stop by April 17-May 3, 2009, when the national tour of Tuna Does Vegas, featuring Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, makes its West Coast premiere.

Emmy Award-winning actress Vicki Lawrence and her famous television creation Thelma Harper, known to audiences as Mama from "Mama's Family," will offer an evening of comedy and music for two performances on May 9, 2009. The final production of the season will be the short-lived Broadway revue Ring of Fire, running June 5-21, 2009. The songs of Johnny Cash are woven into the musical created by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade.
