Performances begin January 24 for Ring Twice for Miranda, debuting Off-Broadway at New York City Center Stage II. The new tragi-comedy is penned by Laugh it Up, Stare it Down playwright Alan Hruska and directed by Rick Lombardo.

The show is set to officially open February 12 for an engagement scheduled through April 16. The play follows a chambermaid named Miranda who escapes her confined household onto the daunting streets outside.

The cast is made up of William Connell (A View From the Bridge, The Coast of Utopia), Katie Kleiger (Juno and the Paycock, Blue Stockings, Miss Bennet), Ian Lassiter (War Horse, An Octoroon), Graeme Malcolm (Equus, Translations, Aida), George Merrick (Honeymoon In Vegas, South Pacific, High Fidelity), Talia Thiesfield (Man of La Mancha, Veep), and Daniel Pearce (Machinal, ...Spelling Bee).

Here’s how production notes describe the new show: “Ring Twice for Miranda is a tragi-comedy set in difficult times, roiled by economic upheavals. A man known only as Sir rules with a vengeance, but it's Miranda, a chambermaid, who adds intrigue to his life. When Elliot, the butler, is fired, she flees with him in defiance onto the frightening streets. All must soon make critical decisions with imperfect facts to guide them, since little in their world is as it appears.“
