Kathleen Turner, star of MCC's Third Story, served as honorary chair for the event March 9 at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom.

The evening, as usual, featured Broadway performers singing classic show tunes. The catch is: for roles in which they would never be cast.

Here was the songlist for the evening:

  • Robin de Jesus (as In The Heights' Vanessa) - "It Won't Be Long Now"
  •

  • Steven Pasquale (Annie) - "Maybe"
  •

  • Alice Ripley and Kelli O'Hara (Annie orphans) - "Hard Knock Life
  •

  • Aaron Tveit (Ragtime's Mother) - "Back to Before"
  •

  • Norbert Leo Butz and Raul Esparza (as The Last Five Years' Jamie and Cathy) - "The Next Ten Minutes"
  •

  • Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific's Emile) - "This Nearly Was Mine"
  •

  • Daniel Breaker (Legally Blonde's Elle Woods) - "So Much Better"
  •

  • Steven Pasquale (Big River's Jim) - "Free at Last"
  •

  • Alice Ripley (Sweeney Todd) - "Poor Thing/My Friend"
  •

  • Butz and Tveit (Wicked's Glinda and Elphaba) - "What Is This Feeling?
  •

  • Esparza (A Star Is Born's Esther) - "The Man That Got Away"
  •

  • Beth Leavel (La Cage aux Folles' Albin) - "I Am What I Am" The evening also honored producer Elizabeth I. McCann for "her commitment to producing new work and reaching new audiences both on and Off Broadway." She presented Broadway's Equus earlier this season and co-presents the current Hair revival.

All proceeds benefited MCC's production, play development, education and outreach programs. For more information, visit mcctheater.org.
