Tony, Emmy, Oscar and Grammy winner Rita Moreno will offer an afternoon of story and song September 25 at 3 PM at the Queensboro Performing Arts Center in Bayside, NY.
“We are thrilled to welcome this timeless star of stage and screen, whose journey took her from Puerto Rico to Hollywood and then here to Queens!” said Susan Agin, executive director of QPAC, in a statement. “Our audiences are in for an electrifying afternoon of world class entertainment featuring a living legend.”
Attendees can expect to hear tunes from the American Songbook as well as Broadway classics (including West Side Story, Sunset Boulevard), swing, jazz, selections from her new Spanish album (Una Vez Más, produced by Emilio Estefan) and even rap.
The multi-talented actress, dancer and singer is one of only 12 performers to receive all four major American entertainment awards, winning the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards. Her credits span more than six decades, beginning with her Broadway debut at age 13. She has starred on Broadway and on London’s West End; appeared in more than 40 feature films and countless television shows; and performed in numerous regional theatres and in her one-woman show, Life Without Makeup, at the Berkeley Rep.
