News Rivers, Krombach, Cameron, Toro and More to Play the Laurie Beechman Theatre The Laurie Beechman Theatre will welcome a host of theatre favorites during the month of August.

Celebrated comedian and actress Joan Rivers, seen on Broadway in Broadway Bound and Sally Marr...and her escorts, will play the West 42nd Street venue Aug. 4 and 11 at 8 PM, Aug. 5, 12 and 19 at 8 PM and Aug. 20 at 9 PM. Rivers, according to press notes, will offer "an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashion." Net proceeds will benefit God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Chelsea Krombach, who is currently understudying the role of Elphaba in the Broadway cast of Wicked, will go it solo at the Beechman Aug. 30 at 7 PM. And, Ben Cameron — seen on Broadway in Wicked, Aida and Footloose — will offer his new show, Different is (still) Good Aug. 30 and 31 at 9:30 PM.

The month at the intimate cabaret will also feature the previously announced celebration of Bobby Cronin tunes (Aug. 3 at 7 and 9:30 PM) and Cabaret Cares: A Fun Evening with Natalie Toro & Friends (Aug. 17 at 9:30 PM).

The cabaret will also offer Hair Night @ The Beech Aug. 24 at 7 and 9:30 PM. The 7 PM event will feature an advanced screening of "Let the Sun Shine In," the new documentary tracing the history of the musical; at 9:30 PM the Beechman will screen the 1979 Milos Forman film "Hair."
