News Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez's "Let It Go" from "Frozen" in Contention for Original Song Oscar "Let It Go," the driving ballad from the new Disney animated film "Frozen" penned by Tony Award winner Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, is among the 75 songs eligible for nomination in the Oscars' Original Song category, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Dec. 16.

Should "Let It Go" take the Academy Award, it would make Robert Lopez an EGOT Award-winning composer. He has previously won the Emmy ("The Wonder Pets"), the Tony (The Book of Mormon) and the Grammy Award (The Book of Mormon) for his work.

"Let It Go" is performed by Tony Award winner Idina Menzel in the film. Pop star Demi Lovato released the single version.

Also on the list is the Kings of Leon song "Last Mile Home" from the film adaptation of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Tracy Letts drama "August: Osage County." Karen O, whose Stop the Virgens played to acclaim at St. Ann's Warehouse in 2011, is on the list for "The Moonsong" from "Her"; as well as "Bring It On" from "Jewtopia"; and "He Loves Me Still," "Hush Child" and "Test of Faith" from "Black Nativity."
