Robert Anderson, the author of Tea and Sympathy and I Never Sang for My Father, and the man who said, "You can make a killing in the theatre, but you can't make a living," will be remembered at Hofstra University, in Hempstead, NY, Oct. 26 and 27. Anderson himself will participate in the retrospective, as will Edward Albee, Donald Margulies, A.R. Gurney, Teresa Wright and John Kerr.
Biographer Donald Spoto will deliver the keynote address, "The Shape and Shadow of Love: The Core Drama of Robert Anderson." Panels will include: "Robert Anderson, Fellow Playwright"; "Acting in a Robert Anderson Play"; and "Films of Robert Anderson."
Hofstra will also present a full presentation of Anderson's You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water's Running.
