Presented in association with Arnold Mittelman, the performance will launch York's 2015-16 season, beginning Oct. 6 and continuing through Nov. 1 at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s. Jeffrey B. Moss is set to direct, with more cast announcements to be made soon.

The run is presented by Arnold Mittelman and The National Jewish Theater Foundation.

Dubbed by Yellen as a "musical love story between a father and his sons," the new developement is based on the Tony-nominated The Rothschilds, which opened on Broadway in 1970, inspired by the novel of the same name by Frederic Morton abut the foundation of the dynasty of German-Jewish financiers. A story of human rights and triumph, the new work focuses on the relationships between the patriarch of the family, Mayer Rothschild, to be played by Cuccioli, his wife Gutele, and their five sons, living as Jews in a German ghetto. Cuccioli appeared in a 1990 Off-Broadway revival of The Rothschilds, playing one of the sons.

Rothschild & Sons, a more intimate, one-act retelling, features several songs not included in the original, with new lyrics by Harnick.  Composer Bock passed away in 2010.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab in association with The National Jewish Theater Foundation present staged readings of Rothschild & Sons in November 2014

The York Theatre Company performs at Saint Peter’s Church, located on East 54th St. in Manhattan. Tickets are available at YorkTheatre or by calling (212) 935-5820.
