News Robert De Niro and John Travolta Set to Co-Star in "Killing Season" Film Oscar winner Robert De Niro will star opposite Oscar nominee John Travolta in the upcoming film "Killing Season," according to Deadline.com.

Mark Steven Johnson has signed on to direct the project from Millennium Films, Corsan Pictures and FilmEngine; production will begin Jan. 16, 2012. "Killing Season," penned by Evan Daugherty, is an action movie set in the Appalachian Mountains about an American military veteran (De Niro) who has retreated to a remote cabin in the woods and strikes up a friendship with a European tourist (Travolta). However, the tourist happens to be a former Serbian soldier bent on revenge.

De Niro has been seen on Broadway in Cuba & His Teddy Bear. He received Oscars for his work on "The Godfather Part II" and "Raging Bull." His many other film credits include "Machete," "The Good Shepherd," the "Meet the Parents" and "Analyze This" films, "Wag the Dog," "Marvin's Room," "Casino," "A Bronx Tale," "Goodfellas," "The Untouchables," "Taxi Driver" and "Mean Streets."

Travolta is best known for portraying Danny Zuko in the 1978 film version of the long-running Broadway musical Grease. He has been seen on Broadway in Over Here! and Grease. Travolta was Oscar-nominated for his roles in "Saturday Night Fever" and "Pulp Fiction."
