News Robert Foxworth Stars in Julius Caesar at The Old Globe, June 29-Aug. 10 Robert Foxworth stars as Brutus in The Old Globe staging of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, June 29-Aug. 10. Tony Award-winner Daniel Sullivan directs the production set to open July 5.

The Bard tragedy centered on the life of the title Roman politico kicks off The Old Globe summer season at San Diego's outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Foxworth (Judgement at Nuremberg, Ivanov, Candida) is known to television audiences for his roles in "Six Feet Under" and "Falcon Crest."

The cast also features Kandis Chappell, Jonathan McMurtry, Dakin Matthews, Michael James Reed, James Waterston, Kurt Reichert, Morgan Thomas Hollingsworth, David Purdham, Andrew McGinn, Robin Gammell, Joel Polis, Caitlin O'Connell, Emmelyn Thayer, Tom Ramirez, Liam Craig, Paul Bourque, David Raphael D'Agostini, Michael Doyle, Michael Newman, Bayardo Manelick De Marguia, Jenni Lynn McMillin, Neil Shah, Jennifer Stewart and Daniel J. Viloria.

The Julius Caesar design team includes Ralph Funicello (scenic), Lewis Brown (costume), Mimi Jordan Sherin (lighting) and Dan Moses Schreier (sound). Dakin Matthews serves as dramaturg while Robin H. McFarquhar handles fight direction.

Sullivan won a Tony Award in 2001 for his direction of Proof. Other Broadway credits include Ah, Wilderness!, The Sisters Rosensweig, The Heidi Chronicles, Conversations with My Father and I'm Not Rappaport.

The rest of The Old Globe summer season includes Claudia Shear's Dirty Blonde with Kathy Najimy, Kevin Chamberlin, Bob Stillman and Sally Mayes (July 20-Aug. 30), Much Ado About Nothing with screen stars Billy Campbell and Dana Delany (Aug. 31-Oct. 12) and David Ives' Time Flies (July 27-Sept. 7).
