News Robert Lopez, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Theresa Rebeck Will Attend Dramatists Guild of America Conference in Chicago The Dramatists Guild of America will hold its annual conference in Chicago August 22-24.

Attendees of the conference will include Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Gretchen Cryer, Carol Hall, Winnie Holzman, David Ives, Lisa Kron, Robert Lopez, Terrence McNally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Marsha Norman, Theresa Rebeck, Stephen Schwartz, Jeff Sweet, John Weidman, George C. Wolfe and Charlayne Woodard.

Steppenwolf artistic director Martha Lavey will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Other events include seminars on "Writing Wicked" (with Holzman and Schwartz), "Writing the Musical Book" (with Norman), "Writing the Solo Drama" with Woodard, Kron and Cryer, "Writing History" (with Weidman) and "Writing for Your Audiences" (with Lopez and Anderson-Lopez).

Both Rebeck and Miranda will appear "in conversation."

Ben Thiem will host The Chicago League of Theatres Meet and Greet Aug 22.

The Dramatists Guild of America has over 6,000 members nationwide and is the only professional association which advances the interests of playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists writing for the living stage. The Guild's members include both beginning writers and prominent authors represented on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theaters.
