News Robert Sean Leonard to Star in To Kill a Mockingbird at Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park Robert Sean Leonard, who last appeared on the West End stage in a 1991 production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town at the Shaftesbury Theatre, will return to London to star as Atticus Finch in a new stage production of To Kill A Mockingbird, adapted from Harper Lee's novel of the same name.

It will begin performances at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park May 16, prior to an official opening May 22 for a run through June 15.

Leonard, who is best known for playing Dr. James Wilson in eight seasons of TV's "House" and for playing Neil Perry in the 1989 film "Dead Poets Society," has also appeared regularly on the New York stage, most recently in the 2011 revival of Born Yesterday. He won the 2001 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for Tom Stoppard's The Invention of Love, and was nominated in the same category in 1993 (for Candida) and 2003 (for Long Day's Journey into Night). Other Broadway appearances include Brighton Beach Memoirs, Breaking the Code, The Speed of Darkness, Philadelphia Here I Come!, Arcadia, The Iceman Cometh, The Music Man and The Violet Hour.

Leonard has also appeared extensively Off-Broadway, including productions of Fifth of July, You Never Can Tell, Pygmalion, King Lear and When She Danced. Other film crfdits include "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Age of Innocence," "Mr. & Mrs. Bridge," "Swing Kids," "Tape," "Chelsea Walls" and "The Last Days of Disco."

To Kill A Mockingbird will be directed by the Open Air's artistic director Timothy Sheader, with designs by Jon Bauser. Harper Lee's novel has been adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel.

Also in the cast will be Richie Campbell (Tom Robinson), Simon Gregor (Bob Ewell), Hattie Ladbury (Ms. Maude Atkinson), Rona Morison (Mayella Ewell), Joe Speare (Reverend Sykes) and Daniel Tuite (Boo Radley).
