A.S.K. Theatre Projects the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation will co-sponsor a public conversation with Woodruff at 7 PM on Thurs. Feb. 4. Reservations will be accepted beginning Jan. 15, 1999 (310) 478- 9ASK). "Playwriting the Future: Who Gets to Write About Whom, and Is There a Market for Diversity?" is A.S.K.'s second spring lab. "Three major artists from the front lines of the culture wars will address the following questions: How can artists of radically different cultural backgrounds collaborate? Do our hard-won 'identities' remain intact in the process? Can audiences still recognize themselves in the result? (And is this a way to make a living?)," said a company spokesperson.
Audience participation will be part of the evening. Admission to this lab is by lottery. To place your name in the lottery call A.S.K. after Feb. 15, 1999.
