News   Rock Musical SkinDiver, with Barzee, Diaz and Hendryx, Plays Joe's Pub Oct. 1
A concert version of SkinDiver, described as a "multimedia rock musical," will be presented at Joe's Pub Oct. 1.

Produced by Nona Hendryx and Charles Randolph-Wright, the concert will feature the talents of Hendryx as well as Lola Diaz as Makeeda, Peter Jay Fernandez as Makeeda's father, Anastasia Barzee as Marta, Andy Señor, Jr. as T.C and Skie Ocasio as Dan with Marie-France Arcilla, Kiki Hawkins and Keith Anthony Fluitt. Show time is 9:30 PM. Hendryx penned the score for SkinDiver, which features a book by both Hendryx and Randolph-Wright. The latter also directs. Musical direction is provided by Joseph Baker.

"Science fiction has now become science fact in this story of the merging of humans and machines," according to SkinDiver press notes. "The lead character, Makeeda, goes to MIT, graduates with honors and is invited into a futuristic think tank where she and her boyfriend T.C., also a scientist, write the ultimate code. Makeeda uses her beauty, sensuality and intellect to become a phenomenon on her vastly popular and innovative website. She soon gains international acclaim, earning the moniker 'the Oprah of the Internet.' Unfortunately, that acclamation leads to murder."

Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. Tickets, priced $30, are available by calling (212) 967-7555 or by visiting
