News Rock of Ages to Shutter at West End's Garrick Theatre in November; U.K. Tour to Follow The West End version of Rock of Ages is to shutter at the Garrick Theatre Nov. 2, where it began performances Jan. 18 after a 16-month run before that at the Shaftesbury Theatre. A U.K. tour is being planned, but no dates or details are available yet.

The production originally opened in the West End at the Shaftesbury Sept. 27, 2011, following previews that began Aug. 31. Its transfer to a smaller West End house follows a similar trajectory that it followed on Broadway, where it originally opened at the Brooks Atkinson in April 2009, after a prior Off-Broadway run, and subsequently transferred to the smaller Helen Hayes Theatre in 2011, where it is still running.

Rock of Ages is written by Chris D’Arienzo, directed by Tony-nominated Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine. Scenic design is by Tony nominee Beowulf Boritt, costume design is by Tony Award nominee Gregory Gale, lighting design is by Jason Lyons, sound design is by Tony Award nominee Peter Hylenski, and projection design is by Zachary Borovay.
