News Rose and Crown's Just Desserts Begins in UK

Eight short plays get an outing at the small but innovative and exciting Rose and Crown fringe theatre at Hampton Wick, a venue with a reputation for promoting new writers.

The season, under the title Just Desserts— a reference to the relative briefness of the plays, with four being performed each evening— runs from Oct. 29 to Nov. 24, with one program of four plays (Skin Deep, Going to Grandma's, Walking Out and The Priest and his Love) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while the other program (The Last Word, The Dark, Godot Arrives and Zoo) appears on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

These eight one-act plays by new and unknown writers have been chosen from entries from all over the world, following an advertisement on the internet. The countries represented in this final selection are The United States, Britain, Australia and Japan.

Rose and Crown Box Office can be reached at 020 8296 0242.
