* As reported earlier, on the heels of a popular engagement by Polly Bergen, original Music Man star Barbara Cook opened at Feinstein's on Oct. 24. Cook will have a five-week run at Feinstein's through Nov. 25.

Kicking off the club's Fall/Holiday 2000 schedule, Cook started her run just one day ahead of her own birthday. Her first appearance at Feinstein's comes after her recently acclaimed runs at the more established Cafe Carlyle.

Cook is a Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk award winner who was recently inducted to the Broadway Hall of Fame. Atlanta-born, Cook debuted on Broadway in Flahooley and went on to star in the national company of Oklahoma!, New York City Center's Carousel and Plain and Fancy, and then created the roles of Cunegonde in Candide and Marian in The Music Man (Tony Award).

At Feinstein's, Cook is joined by her 25-year partner, Wally Harper, who is her "musical arranger, accompanist, composer, dance arranger and conductor." With Harper, Cook has produced some of her most memorable works including the recording, Barbara Cook at Carnegie Hall and the more recent Oscar Winners—The Lyrics Of Oscar Hammerstein II. Altogether, Cook has released more than 30 albums including seven original cast albums.
