Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning A Delicate Balance opens Oct. 31 at Virginia Stage Company in Norfolk, VA.

Rosemary Prinz, from TV's As the World Turns and Off Broadway's Steel Magnolias, has been cast as Agnes. Other cast members include Robert Phelps (Tobias), Helen-Jean Arthur (Claire), Karla Mason (Julia), John Thomas Waite (Harry) and Mary Jane Wells (Edna). The production is directed by Charlie Hensley.

A Delicate Balance is the story of a neurotic Connecticut family whose lives are disrupted by the arrival of some house guests who show absolutely no signs of leaving.

Two seasons ago, the Broadway revival of A Delicate Balance, starring Rosemary Harris, Elaine Stritch, and George Grizzard, was a critical and popular success. In addition, a revival of the play starring Maggie Smith and Eileen Atkins opened earlier this month in London's West End to much acclaim.

The original 1966 production starred Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn. The 1973 film starred Katharine Hepburn, Paul Scofield and Lee Remick. A Delicate Balance runs through Nov. 16 at the Wells Theatre, Monticello Ave. & Tazewell St., Norfolk, VA. For tickets, call (804) 627-1234.
