River City Rep is the Shreveport/Bossier area's only professional theatre company. Prinz (Off-Broadway's Steel Magnolias, Broadway's Tribute, TV's "As the World Turns") will play alongside Brian Mathis as Pitou. Memoir is directed by Patric McWilliams, River City Rep's artistic director. He will also design the costumes.

Here's how River City Rep bills the play by American-born Canadian author Murrell: "It's the 77th and last summer for Sarah Bernhardt, the most famous and revered actress in history. She's taken the season to dictate her memoirs to her loyal manservant, Georges Pitou. As she digs deeply into her memory, her private and professional recollections flow together to recreate a past filled with theatrical highs and personal heartbreak. In this dream state, Bernhardt struggles to fight against her failing energies and find a way to accept the day when the sun will soon rise without her."

Prinz recently toured in the role of Grandma Kurnitz in Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers, which played Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse and Paper Mill Playhouse.

Mathis is a Dallas-based actor who appeared in national tours of Jesus Christ Superstar and Seussical.

Performances will play River View Theatre, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport. For reservations/tickets, call (318) 868-5888.
