News Rosie O'Donnell Signs Copies of New Bio "Celebrity Detox" in NYC Oct. 9 Stage and screen star Rosie O'Donnell will appear at an Oct. 9 book-signing in New York City promoting the release of her autobiography "Celebrity Detox: The Fame Game."

The actress-comedian will sign copies of her new book at the Barnes & Noble Booksellers located at 555 Fifth Avenue (at 46th Street) at 12:30 PM. For more information call (212) 697-3048.

The book follows "Rosie's story of the years after she walked away from her top-rated TV show in 2002, and her reasons for going back on the air in 2006," according to publisher notes. "In it, O'Donnell takes you inside the world of talk show TV, speaking candidly about the conflicts and challenges she faced as co-host on ABC's 'The View'... Chronicling the ups and downs of 'the fame game,' Rosie O'Donnell illuminates not only what it's like to be a celebrity, but also what it's like to be a mother, a daughter, a leader, a friend, a sister, a wife — in short, a human being."

Grand Central Publishing releases the more-than-200-page hardcover Oct. 9. All net profits from the book will support her Rosie's Broadway Kids program.

O'Donnell has been a prominent member of the Broadway community as producer (Taboo), star (Fiddler on the Roof, Seussical, Grease) and all-around cheerleader (always featuring Broadway performances on her television gigs). The actress-comedian — seen in the films "A League of Their Own," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Now and Then," "Beautiful Girls" and heard (in voice) on "Tarzan" — has also been seen on the small screen. In addition to her hosting work on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" and "The View," she has put in memorable turns on "Nip/Tuck," "Queer as Folk," "Will & Grace," "The Practice," "Ally McBeal" and more.

The book is currently available for sale through book outlets and at shop.rosie.com.
