Chicago playwright Sean Grennan's Luck!, a darkly comic look at chain letters and how they "wreak havoc, bestow blessings or both," will have a Dec. 13 private reading with Broadway and regional actors at the Kaufman Theatre in Manhattan.

The six-character play, directed by Michael Goldberg and produced by Greg Schaffert, will feature Ross Lehman (Broadway's Epic Proportions), Alton Fitzgerald White (Broadway's Ragtime), Kathy Santen (Broadway's Les Miserables), Chicago actresses Erin Grennan and Niki Sarich, Paul Slade Smith (GeVa's A Christmas Carol) and Jeff Talbott (Off-Broadway's Home of the Brave).

Grennan is an actor-writer whose musical, Phantom of the Country Opera, was first staged at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in 1995. The show went on to have 50 international productions. He also co-wrote the musical, Ms. Cinderella, for Marriott's Lincolnshire.

The 6:30 PM industry reading, intended to gauge interest in a full staging, follows a reading earlier in the year at The Apple Tree Theatre in Chicago. Call (212) 730-9500 or (212) 665-8039 for information.
