News Round House Theatre to Bring Asher Lev to Life Round House Theatre will present the Washington, D.C.-area premiere of My Name is Asher Lev, adapted by Aaron Posner from the acclaimed novel by Chaim Potok. The show is a co-production with Delaware Theatre Company.

Alexander Strain will star as Asher; Lise Bruneau and Adam Heller co-star. Jeremy Skidmore directs the production, which runs March 17-April 11.

According to press notes, "Asher Lev is compulsively driven to draw and paint the world he sees and feels. Born into a Hasidic family in post-World War II Brooklyn, his artistic genius threatens to estrange him from both his parents and his community. Asher’s journey is by turns heartbreaking and exultant as he must choose between art and faith."

The design team comprises scenic designer Tony Cisek, costume designer Ren LaDassor, lighting designer Dan Covey and
sound designer and composer Matthew M. Nielson.

Aaron Posner’s adaptation of Potok’s novel "The Chosen" has been seen in more than 40 regional theatres.

The Round House Theatre is located at 4545 East-West Highway
in Bethesda, MD. For more information, visit www.roundhousetheatre.org.
