News Royal Shakespeare Company Season at Theatre Royal Announced

The RSC will use the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, as its London base for a short season from July 27 to September 21.

The first play will be Much Ado About Nothing, starring Harriet Walter and Nicholas Le Prevost as the Beatrice and Benedick, a couple with a love-hate relationship.

Hariet Walter co-starred at the Haymarket in The Royal Family last year, playing Judi Dench's daughter. Nicholas Le Prevost has most recently been at London's only other Theatre Royal, at Drury Lane, in Trevor Nunn's production of My Fair Lady. Much Ado About Nothing, which opens in Stratford in May prior to its arrival in London, is directed by Royal Shakespeare Company Associate Director Gregory Doran.

Antony and Cleopatra, which transfers to the Haymarket on August 28, stars Sinead Cusack as Cleopatra, with Stuart Wilson — who first worked with the RSC as a young actor before moving to Hollywood — and is directed by Michael Attenborough.
