Cheryl Royce's The Passion of Claire has won the 2002 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for excellence in playwrighting. This drama from writer-performer Royce (My Son Susie) is based on the true story of a catholic nun who was raped while she was praying alone in her church and traces the after-effects the act has on the community around the nun. There will be a staged reading of The Passion of Claire Sept. 30 at 7:30 at the Abingdon Theater along with the Wolk Award ceremony. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 736-6604 or e-mailing [email protected].
