The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, The Harlem Arts Alliance and The Broadway League will recognize a mix of actors, playwrights and producers for their outstanding contributions in the theatre on and off-stage at an upcoming Black History Month reception.

The event, entitled "Blacks on Broadway and Beyond," will take place Feb. 28 at the Gran Piatto d'Oro in Manhattan. Those being honored include Ruby Dee (actor), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (actor/director), George Faison (choreographer), Woodie King, Jr. (producer), Phylicia Rashad (actor), Tamara Tunie (actor/producer), Jeffrey Wright (actor), Irene Gandy (Broadway publicist), Donna Walker- Kuhne (marketing specialist), Patricia Cruz (producer of Harlem Stage and Aaron Davis Hall), Howard Dodson (Schomberg Center for Black Research Emeritus), August Wilson (playwright-posthumously) and The Shubert Organization, the latter for its commitment to presenting works by African-Americans playwrights, directors and actors.

Gran Piatto d'Oro is located at 1429 5th Avenue at 116th and 117th Street. This is a private event.
