According to Bay Street's website, John Van Druten's romantic comedy Bell, Book and Candle is the first production of the season, June 2-28. Ruehl (of Broadway's current The American Plan) will return to Bay Street in Dinner, July 7-Aug. 2. A hit in the West End, the dark comedy centers around a dinner party from hell "where caustic comments fly like poisonous darts across the dinner table." Ruehl previously appeared as Frida Kahlo in the Bay Street production of Diane Shafer's Viva La Vida! in 2006.
The third summer production will be the classic musical comedy Dames at Sea. Featuring a score by Jim Wise, with book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, the 1930s musical valentine runs Aug. 11-Sept. 6.
