Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, whose opera Prima Donna debuted at City Opera last season, will join his sister for the special benefit concert billed as Kate's Kids, which will take place at 7:30 PM at the Gilman Opera House.

The concert, which promises special guest performances, will benefit the Kate McGarrigle Foundation, which "supports the rich artistic legacy of its namesake and the search for a cure for sarcoma." The concert will celebrate music from McGarrigle's career.

BAM will also screen "Sing Me The Songs That Say I Love You: A Concert for Kate McGarrigle" June 25, 2013, at 7 PM at the Rose Cinemas. The film is directed by Lian Lunson.

The film is billed as a hybrid documentary and concert film. According to the creators, "Candid interviews with McGarrigle's family and friends are paired with rousing performances of her music by Rufus and Martha, Anna McGarrigle, Jimmy Fallon, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, and others to create a poignant, uplifting portrait of an influential and unique musical figure and how a family deals with the loss of its matriarch."

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright and other participants.
