Rufus and Martha Wainwright Will Return to New York in Noël Nights | Playbill

News Rufus and Martha Wainwright Will Return to New York in Noël Nights Rufus and Martha Wainwright will present the benefit concert Noël Nights, marking a return to their annual holiday tradition of celebrating the season through music.

Presented at Town Hall Dec. 17-18, the concerts will feature special guests including Emmylou Harris, Loudon Wainwright III, Justin Vivian Bond, Cibo Matto, Lucy Wainwright Roche and Sloan Wainwright with special appearances by Cyndi Lauper and Renee Fleming. Here's how the event is billed: "The cherished holiday tradition features musical holiday-flavored performances from many members of the talented McGarrigle/Wainwright musical dynasty, including Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Sloan Wainwright, Loudon Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche."

These concerts benefit the Kate McGarrigle Foundation. The holiday shows, featuring the McGarrigles and Wainwrights, were created by Kate to raise money for sarcoma research. Kate performed her last Christmas show in London in 2009 prior to her death in 2010. In 2011, Rufus and Martha decided it was time to bring back the family Christmas show and revive the family gathering to carry on Kate's fundraising efforts.
