Rufus Bonds, Jr returns to Rent's Tom Colins, this time on Broadway, Sept. 20. Bonds, Jr. shone in 1998's Parade, playing Jim Conley, the black worker who turns evidence against Leo Frank in the murder of Mary Phagan, most likely to save his own skin. Other credits include Broadway's Once on This Island and tours of Rent (as Collins), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and his Dora Mavor Moore Award-winning turn as John in the Canadian Miss Saigon.

Bonds replaces Michael McElroy, who joined the Rent cast in 1997, replacing original Collins, Jesse L. Martin.

The current Broadway cast of Rent features Manley Pope (Roger), Jim Poulos (Mark), Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel), Maya Days (Mimi), Tamara Podemski (Maureen), Kenna J. Ramsey (Joanne) and Jacques Smith (Benny).
