The long running Mexican production of Ray Cooney's Run for Your Wife! (Salvese Quien Pueda), which starred the popular Mexican comedian Eugenio Derbez, gave its final performance May 10 at Mexico City's Teatro Mexico, located at the Manolo Fabregas' Theatrical Center.

The reason of this closing is that Derbez will fly to France May 27 in order to tape about 100 comedy clips at the Soccer World Cup. These clips will be aired by Televisa, one Mexico's leading broadcasting companies, which also produces Derbez hit TV show titled "Al Derecho y al Derbez".

Derbez's voice will be heard as Mishu in the Spanish version of the up-coming Disney film Mulan. Eddie Murphy performs this role in the original English version of the animated feature.

According to a spokesperson at Producciones Fabregas, Derbez will not return to Run once the Soccer Cup is over, due to his several TV engagements.

Playbill On-Line tried to contact producer Fela Fabregas in order to ask her about the plans to reopen the hilarious British comedy with another star, but at this time Frabregas is recovering from a minor surgery and won't return to her office until May 17. --By Claudio Carrera
