The Falsettos actor originated the role of Professor Callahan on Broadway and succeeds Legally Blonde tour cast member Ken Land in that part. Land is departing the tour to appear in the Broadway revival of Promises, Promises.
A Tony and Drama Desk Award winner for the 1986 revival of Sweet Charity, Rupert has appeared on Broadway in The Happy Time, Pippin and City of Angels. He originated the role of Marvin in William Finn's March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland (later combined on Broadway in Falsettos), and has appeared Off-Broadway in Elegies: A Song Cycle and Putting It Together. He is the composer of the musicals 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down and Strange Vacation.
Legally Blonde stars Becky Gulsvig as pink-clad Harvard Law student Elle Woods, with DB Bonds as Emmett, Natalie Joy Johnson as Paulette, Jeff McLean as Warner, Rhiannon Hansen as Margot, Megan Lewis as Vivienne, Coleen Sexton as Brooke, Tiffany Engen as Serena, Lucia Spina as Enid and Candice Marie Woods as Pilar.
