Angelic 13 Productions presents the performance at 8 PM at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (MMAC). The piece — directed by Jerad Bortz and choreographed by Kenway Kua and Charlie Sutton — is based on Steven Skeels' debut pop/dance album. Flesh and Spirit uses song, dance, video and still photography "to tell the story of four New Yorkers' experiences in sex, love, religion and spirituality."
The benefit will feature Jennifer Dinoia (Wicked) as the stripper, Rhett George (The Little Mermaid) as the pimp, Gaellen Gilliland (9 to 5) as the church lady, and composer Steven Skeels (Starlight Express). Joining them are "20 of Broadway's hottest dancers": Nova Bergeron, Christina Black, Sam J. Cahn, Cristy Candler, Allyson Carr, Maia Evwaraye-Griffin, Kristina Fernandez, Lindsay Janisse, Kenway Kua, Sumie Maeda, Ian Paget, Randall Pollard, Tommy Scrivens, LaQuet Sharnell, Lauren Strigari, Charlie Sutton, Jonathan Warren and Robin Wilner.
The MMAC is located at 248 W. 60th Street between Amsterdam and West End Avenue. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.smarttix.com.
