Written by Sean Kent and Kenan Minkoff, the show's title character is described as a delightful idiot and childlike fop who is called upon by his young niece Lucy to a suitor she has been arranged to marry. According to the plot, the Baldrick family has fallen on hard times since their manufactured product, "French Whore" perfume, has lost its ability to draw desperate sailors to the boudoirs of unattractive prostitutes, and Lucy's brother Ephraim is desperate to marry Lucy off and save the family fortune.
Directed by Matt Cowart, the show stars Shaun Kevlin, Alan Mozes, Josh Perilo, Christy Pusz, Richard Robichaux, Will Rogers, Ryan Cyrus Shams, Paige Hutchinson, and Brian Philage.
The show plays at the Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street through Aug. 20. Tickets are $15. Call 212-279-4488 or visit www.fringenyc.org for ticket and schedule information.
