Directed by artistic director Joe Dowling, the classic American comedy will run April 9-June 5, 2011, on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Additional casting will be announced at a later time.

In a statement, director Dowling said, "I'm enormously proud of the work Sally has done in London and New York. It has been my great pleasure to work with Sally numerous productions since my very first season at the Guthrie, and each season I've watched her develop into an even more extraordinary actress. I'm thrilled she's returning to us for this production."

Wingert joined the Guthrie acting company in 1985, making her debut in Cyrano de Bergerac, and has since appeared in more than 75 Guthrie productions.

"Spinster sisters Abby and Martha Brewster are devoted to charity and family," according to press notes for the production. "But the sisters have taken on another project as well - befriending lonely older gentlemen and then poisoning them with arsenic-laced elderberry wine."

Single tickets start at $24 and are now on sale through the Guthrie Box Office at (612) 377-2224 or by visiting www.guthrietheater.org.
