"A clever Broadway songwriting duo's promising relationship is blown to bits when they must collaborate with the sex-god singer-composer of a cutting edge rock band," press notes state. "Love gets sung in the wrong key, proving the old adage: there are two sides to every triangle. This comedic play explores the dynamic of 'writing teams' and love, loss and betrayal and includes 4 original songs."

The songwriting team of Berton Averre and Rob Meurer have contributed original songs to the new play with music that features cast members Hedy Burress ("Boston Common") as Vanya, PJ Griffiths (Mamma Mia) as Jan and Andrew Leeds (Falsettos) as Brian.

Set Up & Punch has production design by Ian Garrett, costumes by Michael Mullen and prop design by Michael O’Hara.

Saltzman's work for the stage includes A, My Name Is Alice, Romeo and Bernadette, Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood and Clutter. His 1997 musical Tin Pan Alley Rag, for which he penned the book, has been seen in numerous regional engagements and will receive its New York debut Off-Broadway at the Roundabout Theatre Company this fall. He is a seven-time Emmy winner for his writing on "Sesame Street." Saltzman also served as an executive producer and writer for "Johnny and the Sprites."
