News Samuel French Selects Bruce Lazarus for New Executive Director Bruce Lazarus has been named the new executive director of Samuel French Inc., overseeing company strategy, marketing and business affairs, the play publishing and live performance rights organization announced Nov. 28.

In addition to his work in entertainment law, Lazarus previously served as director of business and legal affairs for Disney Theatrical Productions, working on such shows as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Aida.

He also produced the Tony Award-nominated 2003 production Say Goodnight Gracie and the acclaimed Off-Broadway run of Shakespeare's R&J in 1997.

"Samuel French matters - we matter to those who create, study and love theatre and to the future generations who will create, study and love theatre," Lazarus said in a statement. "I am honored to be working side by side with the dedicated and passionate staff at Samuel French. We make theatre happen, worldwide, everyday!"
