San Diego Actors Theatre, in association with L'Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa, is continuing to mount its popular "Children's Classics" program in the Garden Ampitheatre every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Spring of 2000 will mark the seven-year anniversary of this family entertainment program created by artistic director Patricia Elmore Costa. The poetry of Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky will continue to be featured
On Sept. 11, The World's Birthday, an original story by Costa honoring the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah will be presented. Also scheduled for the same day is Back to School Race, a comedy in which the actors perform a modern adaptation of the classic fable "Tortoise and the Hare."
Other forthcoming shows include Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks & the Three Bears and Witches From Macbeth, among others.
The Garden Ampitheatre is located at 1540 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar. Performance times are 11 AM; tickets are $4 per person ($45 annual membership fee for a family of four). For tickets and information call (619) 268- 4494.
