SAN DIEGO--A "wild and woolly satire of the American soap opera," Claudia Allen's The Gays of Our Lives opens Aug. 14 at the Diversionary Theatre for a six-week run. The play "takes the classic American soap opera into territory Agnes Nixon never dared explore. Quite frankly, it's far too twisted for color TV," said a company spokesperson.
Conceived by Allen and Lee Roy Rogers, The Gays of Our Lives is directed by Wayne Tibbets and has a cast that includes Navarre T. Perry, David McBean, Noell Tarpey, Jon Brandon Stigers and Yvonne L.E. Fisher, among many others.
Performances are Thursday - Saturday 8 PM; Sunday 7 PM. Tickets are $12-$15. The theatre is at 4545 Park Blvd. Call (619) 220 0097.
