Tony Kushner's Angels in America -- Part One: Millennium Approaches will open April 30 at Diversionary Theatre for a two-month run. This staging is the first non-tour San Diego production of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play.
Director Wayne Tibbetts said the production will be staged with "a simplicity focusing on the play. The cast and staff have tossed their hearts and souls into this production. The piece means a great deal to us all personally in terms of what it has to say and how we, collectively, tell the story."
Diversionary plans to produce Part Two in Feb. 2000.
Tibbetts also announced his cast: Michael Severance, James M. McCullock, Matthew Caffoni, Lisa Galer, Anna Rosemore, Frank Di Palermo, Rick Stevens and Christopher Purifoy.
