Neurotic New Yorkers arrive in sunny San Diego with the Globe Theatres' revival of Christopher Durang's classic comedy, Beyond Therapy, playing the Cassius Carter Centre Stage Sept. 8-Oct. 20. Opening night is Sept. 14.

In Beyond Therapy, Bruce and Prudence might make a love match — if Prudence can get over the addition of Bruce's lover, Bob, to their relationship. Like many confused modern souls, Prudence and Bruce seek solace in their wacky therapists: Prudence's lecherous, chauvanistic Stuart and Bruce's word-weary Charlotte, who calls things by whatever word comes into her head until she can find the correct term for them. Durang is the author of Sister Mary Explains It All For You, The Marriage of Bette and Boo and Betty's Summer Vacation.

Beyond Therapy stars Anna Cody as Prudence, Alma Cuervo (Titanic) as Charlotte, Adam Edwards as Bob, Matthew Montalongo as Bruce, Javen Tanner as Andrew and Paul Michael Valley (1776) as Stuart.

Brendon Fox directs. Fox recently helmed An Infinite Ache and The Countess at the Globe.

Single tickets to Globe Theatres productions are $25-$45. The Globe Theatres are located in Balboa Park. For reservations, call (619) 239 2255. The Globe Theatres are on the web at http://www.theglobetheatres.org. — By Christine Ehren
