Viva Ann Margret! The film and TV star is still touring the country as Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, but she's stopping off in San Francisco to look back on her Elvis days Feb. 22 at the Castro Theatre.

After a screening of 1964's Elvis vehicle "Viva Las Vegas," Ann-Margret will chat with Ann Frasier about her life, film and now stage career. The two-time Academy Award nominee (not to mention five-time Golden Globe winner and six-time Emmy nominee) is making her stage debut as the madame with a heart of gold in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Tickets to the Ann-Margret gala at the Castro are $25-$35 and benefit the Project Open Hand meal and grocery service for the critically ill homebound and HIV/AIDS patients. The Castro Theatre is located at 429 Castro Street. For reservations, call (415) 863-0611 or e-mail [email protected].

A film festival of Ann-Margret flics will continue Feb. 23 and 24 at the Castro. Movies to be screened include two musicals, "Bye, Bye Birdie" and "Tommy," along with "Kitten With a Whip" and "Carnal Knowledge."
