San Francisco Symphony will mark the opening of its season and the 25th anniversary of the opening of Davies Symphony Hall with a gala event on September 7, the orchestra announced.

The gala will feature Shostakovich's Cello Concerto, with Yo-Yo Ma as soloist; Rimsky-Korakov's Cappriccio espagnol; and Tchaikovsky's Marche slave.

The concert will be preceded by three separate receptions for patrons and is followed by two parties.
