Shrek the Musical, by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, will launch the season Dec. 1, 2010-Jan. 2, 2011, at the Orpheum Theatre. The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal, starring Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley, will arrive Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2011, at the Curran Theatre. The 1980's-themed rock tuner Rock of Ages, starring Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis, will play the Curran March 8-Apri 3, 2011. Blue Man Group will follow May 26-June 19, 2011, at the Golden Gate Theatre.
The final production will be the Tony Award-winning musical Billy Elliot, by Elton John and Lee Hall, which will arrive Sept. 13 at the Orpheum Theatre.
