News Sandra Oh, Johanna Day, Kevin Carroll Star in Premiere of Diana Son's Satellites The Public Theater has announced the cast and creative team for Satellites, the new play by Diana Son, whose Stop Kiss was previously embraced at the Public.

The Brooklyn-set play, directed by Michael Greif, will feature Kevin Carroll (Public's Take Me Out, Stop Kiss), Johanna Day (Tony Award nominee for Proof), Ron Cephas Jones (Public's Richard III), Satya Lee (Off-Broadway's Tokyo Can Can 2), Sandra Oh (Stop Kiss, "Grey's Anatomy") and Clarke Thorell (Hairspray).

Performances of the world-premiere production begin May 30 in the Public's Martinson Theater. The press opening is June 18.

According to the Public, "New parents Nina and Miles [played by Sandra Oh and Kevin Carroll], an interracial couple, move into a transforming neighborhood in Brooklyn. They have a new house, a new baby, and only one of them has a job. Old friends and new strangers come into their lives, testing their instincts on who to trust and why. Hilarious and heart-rending complications ensue around questions of parenting, racial identity, community and the way we live now…"

Satellites was commissioned by The Public Theater. In 2004, it was presented in "New Work Now!," The Public's nationally recognized annual series that showcases new work from emerging and established artists. The world premiere is part of The Public's 50th anniversary season.

The creative team includes scenic designer Mark Wendland, costume designer Miranda Hoffman, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Walter Trarbach and Tony Smolenski IV, and original music by Michael Friedman. Satellites will play Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM, Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM and Sunday at 7 PM. There will be no performance 2 PM June 3. There will be post-show discussions on June 7 and June 27.
