Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan, who will soon be making her Broadway debut in The Crucible, appeared on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Jan. 12. The host asked her about all the wrong ways in which people typically pronounce her name, which is of Irish origin.
"Saoirse like inertia," clarified the stage and screen star, admitting that people rarely pronounce her name right. Colbert also asked Ronan to teach him how to do a proper Irish accent. Watch the clip below:
Ronan was nominated for a Golden Globe and Academy Award at 14 years old for her performance in "Atonement" alongside Keira Knightley. She was recently nominated for another Golden Globe, this time for her starring role in the film "Brooklyn."
