The evening of performances is directed by Tony winner Scott Wittman and will honor Joy Tomchin for her activism on behalf of the LGBTQ communities; Donn Russell for his commitment to and support of non-traditional theatre; and Roberta Uno for her leadership in philanthropy and cultural diversity.

La MaMa is currently showing Gardiner Comfort's acclaimed solo play The Elephant in Every Room I Enter. Comfort's work recounts the details of his week at the Tourette Syndrome Association National Conference in Washington, D.C., and shares his experiences of his life as an actor living with the neurological disorder.
