News "Say a Little Prayer": London Production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Shutters Dec. 31 The West End edition of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert The Musical shutters Dec. 31, 2011, after a run of over 1,000 performances at the Palace Theatre.

The show, which is also currently playing Broadway's Palace Theatre, first opened in the West End in March 2009; it will have run for just under three years at its closing. The closing cast is led by Don Gallagher (Bernadette), Richard Grieve (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam, who originated the role in London and has played it throughout the run), who play the glamorous Sydney-based performing trio who head to the desert. Also in the cast is Ray Meagher as Bob.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, based on the cult film of the same name, has a book by Stephan Elliott and co-producer Allan Scott. It is directed by Simon Phillips, choreographed by Ross Coleman, and designed by Brian Thomson. Costumes are by Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner, the Oscar-winning designers of the original film. The other producers are Liz Koops and Garry McQuinn for Back Row Productions, Michael Hamlyn for Specific Productions, Michael Chugg for Chugg Entertainment, John Frost for the Gordon Frost Organisation, the Mirvish Organisaiton, the Really Useful Group, Darcie Denkert and Dean Stolber for MGM on Stage, and Rebel Penfold-Russell for Latent Image Productions.
