On the Aug. 1 broadcast of "Today's Fourth Hour," Gifford announced that Not "Today"… and Tomorrow's Not Looking Good Either, an original 18-minute musical about the "Today" show, will air on NBC prior to the network's broadcast of "Peter Pan Live!"

Gifford said on "Today," "When the producers came to me last January and said, 'We want you to write a musical about the 'Today' show,' I said, 'What? It's going to be a disaster.' They said, 'That's why we want you.' I have a little experience with disasters on Broadway!"

Regis Philbin will guest star in the musical, which features music by Scandalous collaborator David Friedman. The team at "Today" will comprise the cast.

Not "Today"… and Tomorrow's Not Looking Good Either is planned to air before year's end.
